Club Championship 5th August 2012

The Club Championship entourage moved to Dobsons on the 5th August looking for the big bream bags seen earlier this season. However the fish had other ideas and it was a tough contest to grind out a few fish each, with few silvers showing and the carp spawning. However Dave Smith is currently on fire with two wins in a row to go equal second in the table. The overall result was:

Dave Smith with 18lb 14oz  1 carp 3 bream from peg 7 using method feeder to island

Adrian Ager with 13lb 9oz  1 carp 2 bream from peg 2 using method feeder to eco island

John Cox with 11lb 1oz 2 carp from peg 36 using method feeder to island

Over 60's match 1st August 2012

Following the arm-aching action on Willows, the Over 60's moved to the adjacent Alders Lake for the 1st August match. This attracted a smaller field for the challenge of teasing silver fish from the weedy venue. Ray Jones triumphed in this event to take top points. With four matches complete the series is finely balanced with 5 points covering the leading four anglers. The overall result was:

Stu Dyer 3-11-0

Brian Pallett 2-3-0

Club Championship 22nd July 2012

Just four days after the Over 60's competed on Willows, the Club Championship anglers tried to emulate the large bags of carp. But with the the fish proving harder to get due to the weather, the winner Dave Smith caught just three carp for 37lb to take the 15 points. The full result was:

Dave Smith with 37lb 8oz  3 carp from peg 30 using method feeder to the island

Martin Pallett with 32lb 13oz  4 carp from peg 34 using method feeder and pole

Brian Cripps with 26lb 7oz  from peg 38 using method feeder to the island

Over 70's rover 25th July 2012

For their second outing of the season the old boys took themselves to Dobsons looking for the legendary bream shoals. It was a very close result for the top 3, but they were struggling to catch fish in quantity. E. Goswell took the favoured peg 8 and Ken Hunt took the long walk to peg 1, both tactics paying off. The result was:

M. Shore 3lb 13oz from peg 3

Over 60's match 18th July 2012

On the 18th July the Over 60's tackled Willows lake looking for some big bags of carp. On the day Billy Lowe surprised the usual suspects with almost double the weight of the nearest challenger, Dave Smith. The large field of 16 anglers followed with a string of double figure bags. The full result was:
